Friday, 16 March 2018. 7-spot Ladybirds - a Seasonal First. I could feel the warmth of the sun coming through the glass earlier this afternoon, and went outside to find three Ladybirds in the back garden and two more by the front door. I was thinking this was fairly early for them to be scuttling about until I saw that my first sighting two years ago had been on 3 March 2016. What a beautiful 7-spot! Queen of the Spring.

Friday, February 28, 2014. Mornings in term time are hectic. I get up earlier and earlier in order to try and get out of the house on time, but always end up with the last minute rush to get to school. School is only a ten minute walk away, but with Harry it could take anything up to an hour if I let him! This morning, however, I left a whole half hour earlier and let Harry follow his nose, so to speak. I think kids are fascinated.

11 Aug 15 - What A Prediction. A more predictable migrant heading off to France. This popped out of a seemly quiet bush after a ten minute wait. It stayed for two days, but was never easy to see in the open for long. 8 Aug 15 - Black Stork Madness.

Last year we went dolphin watching in Cardigan Bay in Wales. When we decided to come to Devon this summer we looked up if there was anywhere that we might see dolphins from the shore. These photos are right at the end of my lens.
